Amid COVID-19 crisis management and daily updates from public health officials, Pacific Road Runners has stopped official organized programming, including club runs, until the health risks have subsided and restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus have been lifted.

We believe that by heeding the recommendations on social distancing now, we will be able to resume our group runs. Although we are disappointed that organized sport participation is postponed, we are hopeful that the short-term sacrifice will mean that we can resume the enjoyment of our sport this season. Delaying our response will likely result in longer shutdowns for organized sport.

We would also like to take this opportunity to distinguish between “active play” and “organized sport”. Active play includes activities British Columbians are currently engaged in, as recommended by Dr. Bonnie Henry, which include activities such as a run with your family members, running alone, or running with a trusted friend. Organized sport includes club runs and social events organized and promoted by PRR.

We will continue to monitor the official advice and directives in the coming weeks and encourage you to do the same. Thank you for your patience.
