Co-founded Forerunners with wife Karen (August 1986). He ran for Canada on numerous occasions: IAAF World Track and Field (1983),
IAAF World Cross Country Championships (1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1987), Commonwealth Games (1978, 1982 and 1986),
World University Games (1977, 1985), Pan Pacific Games (3 time 10000 meters medalist Gold 1985, Silver 1981, and Bronze 1977),
Pan American Games (1981), Americas Team for IAAF World Cup (1979, 1981), 1980 Canadian Olympic Team (10000 meters) plus other
International Competitions. Peter won the 1979 Seattle Marathon (2:17:28), 1985 Toronto Marathon (2:20:18), 1985 Sacramento California
International Marathon (2:10:56), 1988 Victoria Marathon (2:20:30) and the very first “First Half” Half Marathon in 1989.
Peter graduated from the University of Calgary in December 1981. Today, Peter operates and owns Forerunners with his wife Karen,
runs recreationally and is an avid golfer..
Author of "The Five Easy Steps to Heart Rate Monitor Running" and a former Canadian National Team Member, Carey has run competitively for Canada over 20 times,
including the '88 (5K) and '96 Olympics (marathon). He also ran for Canada in the IAAF World Track and Field Championships, IAAF Cross Country Championships and
Commonwealth Games. He was a medalist at the 1985 World University Games in Kobe, Japan (5000 meters). He won the ‘91 Houston Marathon in 2:12:28. His best
times on the track are 13:29 (5000 meters), 28:04 (10000 meters) and 3:58 (mile). He’s coached runners to personal bests in the marathon and half marathon, ranging
from 3:10 to 6:40 and 1:30 to 2:30 respectively and helped many qualify for ‘Boston’.
Carey graduated from the University of East Tennessee and the University of British Columbia where he earned a Masters in Business Administration.
Art’s running achievements include: 46 marathons, 2-time Canadian Olympian (1984-1988), Los Angeles Marathon winner (1987 and 1989), 2nd at the famed Boston Marathon (1986)
where he set a personal best time of 2:11:15, behind winner, Rob de Castella of Australia, who set a course record of 2:07:52. Art also finished 11th in the inaugural IAAF World Track
and Field (Helsinki, 1983) at the marathon distance running a then personal best of 2:11:30. Art has personal bests on the track of 13:38 (5000 meters) and 28:26 (10000 meters).
Art graduated from the University of Oregon in 1980. In his “twilight years”, Art has taken up cycling and triathlons and is a passionate coach of the West Van Track & Field Club.
He leads the faster pace groups at the weekly Forerunners Wednesday Night Running Clinics.
Lynn is perhaps best known for her Bronze medal performance at the LA Olympic Games in 1984, when all eyes were on the American sweetheart Mary Decker, who collided with
a little South African girl named Zola Budd. The American never finished, and Lynn ‘snuck in’ to take Bronze. Lynn held every Canadian record for middle distance from 800m – 10K
on the roads and has held the 1500m record since 1985. She currently works at SportMed BC as Sports Program Coordinator, which includes coordinating InTraining for SunRun
Walk/Run clinics throughout BC, raising funds for athletes and motivating people to be active. Professionally she has enjoyed success as a business owner, TV analyst, motivational
speaker, and athletics coach.
Anjulie holds a B.Sc. (Kinesiology), and is a registered Kinesiologist, an ACE Certified Trainer, BCRPA Supervisor of Fitness Leaders, Certified Fitness Consultant. Anjulie is also a
certified yoga instructor with international training in yoga technique. She is the owner of FITology Fitness Services, providing personal training to a variety of clientele, ranging from those
interested in general health and wellness to those seeking injury rehabilitation, as well as sport-specific conditioning. Anjulie was BCRPA Fitness Instructor of the Year for 2005.
She is also actively involved with the Sports Medicine Council of BC as a Sun Run Intraining Clinic Coordinator and Area Coordinator for Vancouver. Anjulie is a BCRPA certified Supervisor
of Fitness Leaders and conducts evaluations to register qualified candidates as weight room supervisors or fitness instructors.
Dana Lis is a Registered Dietitian (t) and lifetime athlete. With extensive involvement in sports ranging from figure skating to backcountry skiing, and as a current Category 2 road cyclist,
Dana has merged her passion for both sport and nutrition to specialize in the field of sport dietetics. To further pursue an elite education in this field, Dana is expected to complete the
renowned IOC Sports Nutrition Diploma in 2011. In addition, Dana's extensive experience as a personal trainer and instructor has provided her an inclusive understanding sport training.
